Celebrating the 2025 Big 33 Football Players, Cheerleaders
Student athletes across the Commonwealth dream of playing in the 2025 Big 33; and on Monday, that dream became a reality for many!
I appreciated the opportunity to congratulate Big 33 football players and present House citations to the cheerleaders to recognize the hard work and dedication that led them to this awesome moment! Local Cumberland Valley School District athletes were recognized among the numerous student athletes from other schools.
I'm looking forward to game day this summer, which is hosted right here in the 87th District! Let's go, Team PA!

Investing in the Future of Agriculture: FFA Students at the Capitol
I had the honor of having breakfast with the Cumberland Valley FFA Chapter at their state legislative leadership conference on Tuesday morning. These young students are keeping the future of agriculture in Cumberland County bright.
After breakfast, we took a special tour of the House chamber, where they got to sit in during session and see how our Legislature is working to support local farmers and their families. Making sure they have the resources to keep their farms running for generations is a top priority, and I’m grateful for the chance to hear their stories and talk about the future of farming with them.

Welcoming Cumberland Valley Cheerleading State Champions to the Capitol
Sending a huge congratulations to the Cumberland Valley High School varsity cheerleading team on winning back-to-back state championships! Their hard work and dedication have shown through this victory, and it was an honor to welcome them to the Capitol on Tuesday to celebrate their incredible achievement.
It’s always inspiring to see young athletes push themselves to new heights, and I have no doubt this victory is just the beginning for these talented ladies. Wishing them continued success in all they do—both on and off the mat. Best of luck and go Eagles!

Starting the Week with Mechanicsburg Area School District Students
This week, I had the privilege of welcoming eight groups of students from Elmwood Academy in Mechanicsburg for a tour of our Capitol! It was wonderful to welcome them and give them the opportunity to see the legislative process in action.
Connecting with our future leaders is one of the most rewarding parts of this job, and I look forward to the thoughtful questions and conversations that come from these visits. One of my favorite parts of this job is meeting students and sharing with them my journey – from being where they’re sitting to now representing the area I grew up in. I always appreciate their curiosity and thoughtful discussions.

Standing With Pennsylvania Farmers
On Monday evening I had the privilege of speaking at the Cumberland County Farm Bureau’s Spring annual meeting, where I had the opportunity to connect with the hard-working men and women who keep Pennsylvania’s agricultural industry strong. I provided an update on the state budget, highlighting our legislature’s commitment to funding our Commonwealth’s agriculture industry.
Farming isn’t just a cornerstone of our economy – it's a way of life that sustains our communities, feeds our families and drives local businesses. I remain committed to supporting our farmers by advocating for the resources, policies and opportunities they need to thrive, now and for generations to come.

Welcoming New Businesses to Mechanicsburg
On Tuesday morning, while the house was in session, several members of my staff had the pleasure of joining the fantastic team at 7 Brew Coffee for their ribbon-cutting ceremony. It’s always a great moment when we can welcome new businesses into our district, and 7 Brew is no exception. These businesses provide fresh opportunities for growth, and also have a significant economic impact on our community. 7 Brew is already creating jobs, with more than 60 employees contributing to our local economy.
Their grand opening is tomorrow, Saturday, March 29, and I encourage everyone to stop by and experience what they have to offer. Allie and I were able to stop by last weekend, and were able to enjoy some coffee, and my personal favorite, an Arnold Palmer!
Be sure to visit them at 6469 Carlisle Pike, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050, located across from the Appalachian Brewing Company.

Saturday is Mentored Youth Trout Fishing Day!
Just a reminder this Saturday, March 29, is Mentored Youth Trout Fishing Day across the Commonwealth.
To participate, youth anglers (those under the age of 16) must have either a free Mentored Youth Permit or a Voluntary Youth Fishing License. More information about the mentored youth program, as well as a link to obtain a permit or license, is available here.
Next Saturday, April 5, is the first day of trout season. If you haven’t already, be sure to buy your fishing licenses and permits and get your gear organized. Visit the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC) online at www.fishandboat.com or the FishBoatPA mobile app for more information.

Honoring Vietnam War Veterans
March 29 is National Vietnam War Veterans Day, but thanks and honors for these warriors will continue throughout the year, as 2025 marks the 50th anniversary of when the last U.S. personnel were evacuated from Vietnam.
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) estimates that today there are between 6 million and 7 million U.S. Vietnam veterans throughout the world. In Pennsylvania, this number is nearly 217,000 Vietnam-era veterans.
The state Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA) is reminding the men and women who served during the Vietnam War and all veterans of the services it provides, including assistance with locating lost military documents, particularly their DD Form 214, which is vital when it comes to receiving the benefits they deserve. Learn more by visiting the DMVA website.
