Marking Constitution Day with Our Next Generation of Leaders
In honor of Constitution Day, I’ve been visiting our local high schools to share pocket Constitutions with students at Cumberland Valley, Mechanicsburg, and Boiling Springs. I’m pictured here at Boiling Springs High School, where my hope is that these pocket Constitutions serve as a reminder that the freedoms and responsibilities we celebrate belong to them as well, and that they will carry that lesson forward as active citizens in the years ahead.

Help Stop Suicide
September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, a time to remember and honor those lost to suicide and to try to save lives by educating ourselves about the signs of suicide.
Those signs include feelings of hopelessness or of being a burden to loved ones, sleeping too little or too much, withdrawing or isolating oneself, and starting or increasing use of alcohol or drugs. A full list of warning signs and tips from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration are available here.
If you or someone you know is in imminent danger of self-harm, call 911. Help is also available by calling 988 to connect with the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Learn More About PA Game Lands
The Pennsylvania Game Commission is planning a series of driving tours through several state game lands in the coming weeks.
The tours are designed to help people learn more about opportunities available on game lands statewide, while showcasing how habitat work being done on these tracts benefits wildlife. All tours are free, held rain or shine, and open only to vehicles licensed for travel on public roads.
The tours start this Sunday, Sept. 21, on State Game Lands 51 in Fayette County. Future tours will be held on select game lands in Bedford, Berks, Bradford, Cambria, Dauphin, Elk, Huntingdon and Lycoming/Union counties. A detailed schedule is available here.
