Kutz Announces $2.5 Million in Grant Funding for 87th District Projects

HARRISBURG – State Rep. Thomas Kutz (R-Cumberland) today announced the approval of $2.5 million in Local Share Account (LSA) grants to support vital infrastructure, recreational, and community development projects across the 87th Legislative District. Many of these grants were secured in collaboration with Sen. Greg Rothman (R-34). The officials are proud to announce these awards which benefit the region.
“These investments reflect our commitment to improving the quality of life for residents across our region,” said Kutz. “From expanding recreational opportunities to enhancing transportation infrastructure and supporting educational facilities for students and survivors, these grants will have a lasting impact on our communities.”
“Investing in infrastructure is key to meeting the needs of our growing communities,” Rothman said. “I was glad to work with Rep. Kutz and municipal leaders to support these projects which will greatly benefit residents.”
The approved projects include:
• Woods Drive, $1 million to widen Woods Drive and add multimodal infrastructure to accommodate rapid population growth in Silver Spring Township.
• South Middleton Community Center, $500,000 to renovate the former Fair Oaks School into a community center in South Middleton Township.
• Beacon Hill Park, $350,000 to cover costs associated with phases two and three of the park rehabilitation project in Lower Allen Township.
• Monroe Acres Park, $300,000 to develop a new public park off Widder Drive in Monroe Township.
• West Shore Christian Academy, $250,000 to construct a new gymnasium for school and community athletics in Upper Allen Township.
• Greenlight Operation, $100,000 to renovate a property that will support female survivors of human trafficking.
“These projects represent the best of what public-private collaboration can achieve,” added Kutz. “We’re grateful to our local partners for their vision and dedication to building stronger communities.”
The funding for these projects was approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA). CFA is an independent agency that holds fiduciary responsibility over the funding of programs and investments in Pennsylvania’s economic growth.
