In observance of the holiday, my Harrisburg and district offices will be closed for Good Friday. We will reopen with normal schedules on Monday, April 6.

Breaking Ground for Critical Infrastructure Upgrades
Last Friday, I was proud to join Sen. Greg Rothman, Rep. Barb Gleim, the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, and local leaders in South Middleton Township to break ground for critical water system upgrades.
This new storage tank will directly serve approximately 113 residential and agricultural customers and 15 commercial businesses, while significantly enhancing fire protection capacity across the community.

Supporting Our Farmers
I was glad to join the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau for its legislative luncheon in Harrisburg on Tuesday afternoon. I look forward to continuing our work together to support Pennsylvania’s farmers and ensure they can keep doing the critical work that sustains our Commonwealth.

Sunrise, Strategy, and Supporting Local Growth
I kicked off Tuesday morning alongside former Rep. Torren Ecker and Rep. Barb Gleim at the Carlisle Chamber’s Sunrise with State Reps breakfast. We had a productive conversation about supporting local businesses, helping growing families thrive, and unlocking the full economic potential of Cumberland County.

Home Care Takes Center Stage at Community Conversation
Yesterday, I was glad to join Sen. Greg Rothman for a “Home Care Chat” at Silver Spring Presbyterian Church. We had a thoughtful and productive conversation about the vital role home care plays in supporting families and strengthening communities across Pennsylvania.
Thank you to everyone who attended and shared their perspectives on such an important issue.

Capitol Field Trip Crashers!
I had a great time spending the afternoon at the Capitol with students from Monroe Elementary School and Sen. Greg Rothman. It’s always a pleasure to see young students engaged and learning more about how government works. Thanks for letting me join your tour!

Mark Your Calendars for My Document Shredding Events
My office is hosting two free community document shredding events to give residents a safe and secure way to dispose of personal documents. Both events are open to residential customers only and include a four-box or bag limit per household. Staples are accepted; please remove paperclips and binder clips. RSVPs are not required.

Trout Season Opens Saturday!

Voter Registration Deadline May 4
Pennsylvanians who are not already registered to vote but wish to participate in the May 19 primary election should be sure to register no later than Monday, May 4.
To be eligible to vote in the primary, you must be a citizen of the United States for at least one month before the election; a resident of the election district in which you register to vote for at least 30 days before the election; and at least 18 years of age on or before the date of the primary.
Under state law, only voters registered as Republicans or Democrats may vote for candidates in the primary election.

Voters who prefer to vote by mail-in or absentee ballot have until May 12 to apply for the ballot and until 8 p.m. on May 19 to return it. For more information, click here.

LIHEAP Deadline Extended to May 8
The deadline for Pennsylvanians to apply for help with home heating bills has been extended until May 8.
The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) provides home energy assistance grants to help with heating bills and crisis grants for emergencies, such as fuel shortages or broken heating equipment.
To qualify for LIHEAP in Pennsylvania, you must meet income requirements, which are set based on your household size. For example, the maximum annual income for an individual is $23,940 and for a family of four it is $49,500. For each additional person, add $8,520 to the income limit.
Residents may apply for LIHEAP online at www.dhs.pa.gov/COMPASS, by phone at 1-866-857-7095 or by contacting the County Assistance Office in their county of residence.

Student Contests Celebrate America’s 250th
Students across Pennsylvania are encouraged to participate in contests created by the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania Historical Commission to mark our nation’s 250th birthday. The contests celebrate our state’s and nation’s history, while encouraging students to learn about the work and role of the courts. Winners will be notified May 8 and recognized by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court at the May 18 oral argument session at the Capitol in Harrisburg.
The first is a coloring contest open to students ages 5-11 and gives young students the opportunity to create their own judge.
The second is an essay contest open to students in grades 3-12. The essays are being judged on creativity and overall quality when answering the following questions:

The deadline for entries is April 24.
