Kutz Announces $500,000 Grant for Silver Spring Township Project

August 18, 2026

HARRISBURG – State Rep. Thomas Kutz (R-Cumberland) today announced Silver Spring Township has been awarded a $500,000 grant from Pennsylvania’s Multimodal Transportation Fund to support improvements to State Road. This investment will improve safety in a high-traffic corridor that serves residents of Cumberland County, as well as those traveling through the area.

“Cumberland County is among the fastest-growing counties in Pennsylvania, marking a distinct need for infrastructure improvements,” said Kutz. “These funds will allow for Silver Spring Township to update a major roadway, keeping pace with increased traffic to the area, as well as prioritizing safety for motorists. I am glad to see these state dollars invested locally where residents of the 87th District will benefit.”

The State Road safety improvement project was selected for this grant based on qualifying criteria which included safety benefits, regional economic conditions, the technical and financial feasibility, job creation, energy efficiency, and operational sustainability.

For questions about this grant, please call Kutz’s office at 717-975-2235.
